We're new to southern Miss and we've been looking for a German Shepherd. Obviously, the cheaper, the better. Thanks.

Try your local shelter!
They’ll probably have one that some mindless baboon has abandoned.
Save a life!
I second that! Most pups sold online, in the paper, or in pet stores come form puppy mills.
Try for a list of adoptable dogs in your area… you can specify the breed, age, sex, everything.
If you MUST purchase a puppy, consider this site as a guide.
Be responsible and have fun.
Well, with a breed like a German Shepherd, you should NOT put “cheap” as a priority. They have a huge leaning towards hip/joint problems as it is with GOOD breeders, and if you get a “cheap” one from a breeder, you’re going to be facing HUGE vet bills if not having to possibly put your dog to sleep…
If you want to get one from a breeder, go through akc.org and look up the German Shepherd club of America and contact them with what you need. However, there are also MANY rescues (petfinder.com) that will probably have what you want if you don’t need to buy from a breeder…
Good luck and PLEASE trust me, the motto rings true-you get what you pay for.
Every time I visit the shelter, there are lots of beautiful German Shepard’s. If you visit your local shelter or look under petfinder for a rescue you will find one, and save a life.
Here’s a better plan – if you have the money to support a a dog, please go to GSD rescue – they have more than they know what to do with!
Nice GSD’s are euthanized every day, for lack of homes – and there are bound to be even more after the latest hurricane.
i live in sourthern ms to and you should check the local shelters
